I am allergic. Which straps and watches are suitable for me?

That depends on what you are allergic to.

Our leather straps are tested by our DAAKS-accredited institute in Bielefeld and are free of chromium-VI, formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals that are banned in Germany.

However, they are processed with small amounts of chromate - of course, we comply with the legally prescribed limits, but for a leather strap in such a price category, a 100% waiver is not possible. Due to chromate, the durability is better, but in case of allergic problems, it is better to switch to our metal/milanaise straps made of stainless steel or a nylon or rubber strap.

Our watch cases and also all metal straps, are made of 316L stainless steel, so called 'surgical steel'. The problem for watch fans:

There is no stainless steel without nickel and stainless steel is by far the most used material for watches. Even the so-called surgical steel (316-L stainless steel) contains a certain amount of nickel, which can be released and cause unpleasant reddening of the skin.

So there is a small amount of nickel (about 10%) in our stainless steel. This means that we are below the legal limit - people who are very sensitive should nevertheless rather switch to titanium.

Unfortunately, we do not offer nickel-free metal ourselves, but in the case of automatic watches, skin contact can be significantly reduced if you choose a model with a glass back and a metal-free strap. However, even here it is unfortunately unavoidable that there will be some skin contact.
